Your kind favor of the 9th instant has been received, and I am much gratified with the expressions of confidence with which you honor me.
I have the honour to introduce to your acquaintance Mr Simeon Putnam, the gentleman, whom I have engaged, at the request of Mr Turner, to be tutor to his children.
Since my return from my northern Circuit I recd your favor of the 2d april, which had been lying some time in the Alexandria post office.
On my return home after I had the pleasure of seeing you, I made a diligent search among my papers for the letters of Genl Washington, about which we conversed.
I have recd from Mr Kirkland a letter containing [the] following paragraph.
