Bushrod Washington's Circuit Court Route
Justice Bushrod Washington sat on the Supreme Court of the United States. During the Early Republic era, this honor also included service as a judge for one of the Circuit Courts of the United States. Bushrod worked for many circuits throughout his life, including the Southern Circuit in 1798 and 1800, the Middle Circuit in 1800, and the Second Circuit from 1802 to 1803. The circuit which Bushrod served the longest, and which is the focus of this story map, was the Circuit Court of the United States for the Third Circuit.
