Lawrence Lewis and Bushrod Washington were first cousins. They both served as executors of George Washington's estate.

Description

Lawrence Lewis, a son of Elizabeth Washington Lewis and nephew of George Washington, was born on 4 April 1767 at Kenmore plantation in Fredericksburg, Virginia. His first prominent role was as General Daniel Morgan's aide-de-camp in western Pennsylvania during the Whiskey Rebellion. Beginning in 1797, Lewis assisted his uncle with the management of Mount Vernon.
