John Augustine Washington was Bushrod Washington's father.

Description

John Augustine Washington, fourth child of Augustine Washington (1694–1743) and Mary Ball Washington and a younger brother of George Washington, was born on 13 January 1736 at Wakefield plantation in Pope's Creek, Westmoreland County, Virginia. In addition to overseeing lands inherited from his father, young "Jack" managed Mount Vernon during his older brother's service in the French and Indian War. By 1760 he was at Bushfield, the home of Hannah Bushrod, whom he had married in 1756.
