Mary Ball Washington was Bushrod Washington's grandmother.

Description

Mary Ball, mother of George Washington, was born on 30 November 1708, the only child of Joseph Ball and his second wife Mary Johnson Ball. Orphaned at twelve, Mary was thereafter raised by a family friend. In 1731 she wed Augustine Washington (1694–1743) and moved to Wakefield.
