Description

Burr William Harrison was born on 23 April 1793 in Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. An attorney by trade, his services included work as an estate commissioner. Harrison, who based his practice in Leesburg, also served in the Virginia militia during the War of 1812 and represented Loudoun County in the state legislature from 1840 to 1847. In 1822 he married Sarah Harrison Powell (18021845); among their many descendants were two congressmen.
