Samuel Washington was an uncle of Bushrod Washington.

Description

Samuel Washington, younger brother of George Washington and father of George Steptoe Washington and Lawrence Augustine Washington, was born at Wakefield on 16 November 1734. Young Samuel lived on 600 acres of Stafford County land which his father had bequeathed him. While serving as a county magistrate (1766–69), he signed the Articles of Westmoreland against the Stamp Act.
