George Steptoe Washington was a cousin of Bushrod Washington.

Description

George Steptoe Washington, son of Samuel Washington and brother of Lawrence Augustine Washington, was born on 17 August 1771 at Harewood, his father's plantation home in Berkeley County, Virginia (present-day Jefferson County, West Virginia). Following Samuel's death in 1781, George Washington paid for and supervised the education of George Steptoe and Lawrence.
