Description

"Colonel" Thomas Jesse Lee, son of Richard Henry Lee, was born on 20 October 1758 at Chantilly, the family home near Montross in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He studied in England before settling in Dumfries, Prince William County, to practice law and serve as special attorney for the commonwealth. Lee married twice: to Mildred Corbin Washington in 1788 and to Eliza Ashton Brent sometime after Washington’s death in 1796.
