Robert Beverley (1769–1843)
Robert Beverley and Bushrod Washington exchanged several letters regarding a debt owed by Washington's nephew to Beverley.
Robert Beverley, son of Robert Beverley (1740–1800), was born on 12 March 1769 at Blandfield, the family plantation house on 3,500 acres in Caret, Essex County, Virginia. Educated in England, Beverley settled at Blandfield, which he would inherit upon his father’s death. He also owned a property near Tudor Place in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. In 1791 Beverley married Jane Tayloe (1774–1816), with whom he had six children. Beverley died on 30 May 1843.
