To Robert Beverley
Mount Vernon 4 May 1815
Sir
Since my return from Phila. I recd your letter of the 24 April— I have this day written to Mr Morson requesting him to pay Mr Bernard the sum you mention, and as I have no chance to recieve the residue due from Mr M. until Bernards encumbrance is fully discharged, I trust that you will be enabled to give me some assurances that this will speedily be accomplished. The Creditors of my nephew are very urgent to be paid, and will not understand why the money due from Morson should be locked up on account of Bernards encumbrance when there is property enough to discharge it which can at once command money. I am also most anxious to close the trust without delay, which will I trust be an additional apology for my again pressing you on this point. I am Sir very respectfully yr mo. ob. Servt
