Description

Belmont mansion is an old manor house in Fairmount Park, located on the west bank of the Schuylkill river in Philadelphia. While the original cottage was built sometime before 1742, Richard Peters' father added many additions and expansions to the home in the 1760s and '70s. Judge Peters was born at Belmont, and lived there until his death. It is a strong example of early Georgian style architecture
