Sir
I md a Letter from Mr Carter of the 4th Int. acknowledging the nt of mine giving him the information that I had drawn on him in your favr for, the amount of his Bond prin[cipa]l & Int. from date, Mr Carter objects to paying one years Int. saying that he was allways ready to discharge his Bond, it has all was been considered as the duty of the Debtor to apply for and to discharge his Bond; & by his Letter it appears he did not apply untill the fourth Monday in Feby more than two months after his Bond became due, by which neglect he certainly by the conditions of the sale; forfeits the indulgence of a credit of twelve months, I am clear in Law Mr Carter is bound & might be forced to pay the interest; I know Mr Carter to be a Man of Honor; & if he thinks otherwise after perusing this, you may receive the Sum Mr Carter proposed paying, that is deducting one years Int. from the Bond—on paying of which you will deliver him his Bond.
