Elizabeth Lewis Carter (1765–1830)
Bushrod Washington and Elizabeth Lewis Carter were cousins.
Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of Elizabeth Washington Lewis and Fielding Lewis Sr. (1725–1781/2), was born on 22 February 1765 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She shared a birthday with George Washington, her uncle. In 1781 "Betty" married Charles Carter of Culpeper County, with whom she would have sixteen children. She died on 9 April 1830.
