Description

Warner Washington Lewis was born in Virginia on 28 March 1779. In addition to serving as a land agent for his father, he worked for Lawrence Lewis (his father's half-brother) as a surveyor of Kentucky lands belonging to the George Washington estate. Lewis, who never married, would settle at Elmwood, near present-day Auburn, Logan County, Kentucky.
