Mary Willis "Polly" Ambler Marshall (1766–1831)

Description

Mary Willis Ambler was born on 13 March 1766 to a prominent Yorktown, Virginia, family. Known as Polly, she married John Marshall at the age of sixteen. They had six children who reached adulthood. Ambler, who was often in poor health, passed away in Richmond on Christmas Day 1831. She is buried next to Marshall in Richmond's Shockoe Hill Cemetery.
