Description

Oak Hill was the childhood home of John Marshall, located in what is now Delaplane, Virginia. Marshall's father purchased the property in 1773 and built a seven room house there. John Marshall lived in that house from its construction to 1783, when he married. He made many changes to the property during his lifetime, expanding it to be a temple-form Federal style house connected to the original frame structure.
