Bushrod Washington was a Supreme Court associate of John Marshall Jr.'s father.

Description

John Marshall Jr., a son of John Marshall, was born on 15 January 1798 in Richmond, Virginia. He briefly attended Harvard College before his expulsion. Returning to Virginia,  he settled in Fauquier County and married Elizabeth Maria Alexander (1802–1847). They had four children. Marshall died in arrears on 25 November 1833, leading his father to sell a number of slaves to pay off the debts.
