Mary Lee Washington Herbert's father was a brother of Bushrod Washington.

Description

Mary Lee Washington, child of Corbin Washington and Hannah Lee Washington and niece of Bushrod Washington, was born at Walnut Farm. After Corbin Washington's death in 1799, Uncle Bushrod essentially adopted young Mary Lee. In 1813 she married Noblet Herbert at Mount Vernon.
