To Lawrence Lewis
Decr 12th 1826
My dear Sir
I will look over & consider Doctr Masons letter & then write to you on the subject. It is probable that I can decide upon nothing positively until I have seen Mr Whipple, who is at the head of the Free Mason plan, & this will be early next month.
I expect Mr Walker here before Christmass, and that he will bring with him the balance due by him. But at all events the debt is1 well secured, that I should prefer it to any investment now to be made in the funds, & I am sure that there will be no difficulty in accomodating your wishes as soon as the balance is ascertained, which it will be when he arrives. In the mean time you shall be debited with the balance due from him on this day.
The advertisements of the bank stock will be sent up tomorrow morning to be immediately inserted in the Alexa. paper & Intelligencer. The day fined for the sale is the 29th inst. I am my dear Sir very sincerely & affectly yrs
