I now enclose you a statement of the <mutilated>en by you on the 1st day of next month; <illegible> <mutilated>gned to <illegible> acting executors of Genl Washington <mutilated>ed by a deed of trust and Dukes bonds. <illegible> of the account is your agreement to pay the balance with interest, annually, & punctually, to me, which you will sign & have witnessed by two witnesses, and immediately enclose it back to me by post (clear of postage). I wish to receive it before the 6th of next month, when I shall be at home. I have placed on this paper a memorandum stating my agreement to give you two years further indulgence. I shall send my letter open to the Cashier of the Potomack Bank with directions to enclose you your first bond.

     I also enclose you a letter to Mr Gilmore which (after reading) you will seal & forward to him, and also an order on the bank at Fredg to deliver <illegible> Mr Duke's last bond. you will give such directions as you may think proper to Mr. Gilmore as to bringing just on this bond, or taking a deed of trust on property to secure to me the payment of the balance due to him. Should Mr Dukes pay the balance it is of course to be <mutilated> the Bank <mutilated> credit, for the amount of which when so depositied & notices thereof given to me, you will be credited such amount. You will not omit to inform Mr Gilmore that his fees commissions & all other charges & expenses are to be paid & Done by yourself. I am Dr Sir very respectfully yr mo. ob. servt
