Description

Fairfield is a Georgian-style stone mansion that was constructed around 1770 by Warner Washington, Sr. (1722-1790), a first cousin of John Augustine Washington. The house is located about nine miles south of Harewood in what was at that time Frederick (now Clarke) County, Virginia. Warner acquired 1600 acres of land at Fairfield through his 1765 marriage to Hannah Fairfax (1742-1808).
