Description

Thomas Swepson was born in Virginia around 1760. He worked as deputy clerk of Nansemond County (178183), surveyor and inspector of revenue for the port of Suffolk, and resident agent in Suffolk for the Dismal Swamp Company. Swepson married twice: first to Charlotte Driver (c. 1770before 1804, married c. 1791) and then to Ann Riddick (c. 17851846, m. 1804). Between his two wives he had five children. Thomas Swepson died in Suffolk on 19 October 1819.
