Description
Thomas Love Moore was born in Charles Town, present-day West Virginia. In 1815 he married Elizabeth Scott Horner (1793–1842), with whom he would have two children. An attorney, Moore represented Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1820 to 1823. After leaving Congress, he practiced law in Warrenton, where he made the principal speech upon Lafayette's visit in 1825. Moore is buried in Warrenton Cemetery.
