Description

Daniel Roberdeau was born in 1727 on St. Christopher Island (St. Kitts) in the British West Indies. Following schooling in England, he moved to Philadelphia, where he became a successful merchant. During the Revolutionary War, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety and served as brigadier general of the Pennsylvania militia. Roberdeau also signed the Articles of Confederation and represented Pennsylvania in the Second Continental Congress (177779).
