Battaile Muse (1750–1803)

In December 1794 Bushrod Washington wrote Muse regarding an "execution [against] Wales"perhaps a tenant on a Washington property. 

Description

Battaile Muse was born on 30 April 1750 in what is now Charles Town, West Virginia. He was the son of Virginia militia officer George Muse, who resigned following accusations of cowardice in the capitulation of Fort Necessity in 1754. Battaile briefly served in the Revolutionary War before his October 1777 discharge on account of poor health.
