Gabriel Duvall (1752–1844)
Gabriel Duvall was a U.S. Supreme Court colleague of Bushrod Washington.
Gabriel Duvall was born on 6 December 1752 to a wealthy Huguenot family in Prince George's County, Maryland. He studied law, won admission to the bar, and served as a militia private during the Revolutionary War. With his 1782 election to the Maryland State Council, Duvall embarked on a political and legal career that included service as a state delegate (1787–94), U.S.
