James Monroe (1758–1831)
Description
James Monroe was born on 28 April 1758 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He attended Campbelltown Academy—John Marshall was a classmate—and The College of William and Mary before withdrawing from the latter to fight in the Revolutionary War.
