Charles Lee (1732–1782)

Description

Charles Lee, military officer, was born on 6 February 1732 in Darnhall, Cheshire, England. Educated in Switzerland, he joined the British army and fought under Edward Braddock in the French and Indian War, during which he married a Mohawk woman. Lee then served in the Polish army before immigrating to America in 1773.
