Archibald Pierce Williams (1788–1846)
In 1821 Bushrod Washington sold fifty-four of his slaves to Williams and Horatio Stephenson Sprigg.
Archibald Pierce Williams was born on 13 June 1788 in Lexington, Kentucky. Young Williams moved to Rapides Parish, Louisiana, where he became a planter. The 1840 U.S. Census lists 300 slaves in his household. In 1813 Williams married Elizabeth Routh (1794–1855), with whom he would have seven children. Williams died on 23 February 1846 in Pineville, Rapides Parish.
