Rippon Lodge is a one and half story wooden frame house that was constructed around 1740 by Richard Blackburn (d.1757.) Located in Prince William County, about twelve miles southwest from Mount Vernon, the Blackburns of Rippon lodge became close friends with the Washingtons. Julia Ann Blackburn Washington was born at Rippon Lodge.
