William Brockenbrough (1778–1838)

Description

William Brockenbrough, a brother of John Brockenbrough, was born on 10 July 1778 in Essex County, Virginia. He graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1798 and began to practice law. Brockenbrough was appointed a member of the State Council in 1803, the same year he married Judith Robinson White (1784–1854). He was elected to the Thirteenth Circuit Court in 1809 and transferred to the Supreme Court of Appeals in 1834.
