Nimrod Farrow (17651830)

Description

Nimrod Farrow was born in Virginia on 18 July 1765. A resident of Fauquier County, he was listed in the 1820 U.S. Census as owning fifty slaves, twenty of whom were engaged in agriculture and two in manufacture. In 1818 Farrow co-contracted to construct a fort on Dauphin Island in Mobile Bay, Alabama. This project led to legal battles which ended long after his death on 10 June 1830.
