Description

Bedford Springs were a natural spring located in Bedford County, Pa., about 130 miles northwest of Baltimore. It was a popular spring to visit around 1820 both for the physical beauty of its location and the presumed health benefits of its waters, which were described as a cathartic and a diuretic.
