William Powell Farrand (1777–1839)
William Powell Farrand, Philadelphia bookseller, was born on 12 April 1777 in Litchfield County, Connecticut. After receiving his Master's degree from Princeton College in 1802, he entered the printing and bookselling trades. Farrand specialized in printing catalogues of legal texts. From 1807 to 1808 he put out a monthly magazine titled The Evangelical Intelligencer. Farrand, who never married, died on 30 November 1839.
