To Burr William Harrison

Dear Sir

I duly recd your letter mentioning the officits claimed by Mr Hooe against his first bond. Whether they are correct or not is more than I can say; but it was surely very officious and improper in him to settle demands against Mr T. & myself without our authority. It is calculated to introduce confusion not only as between Mr. Hooe and us, but between Mr. T. & myself. We are determined therefore to disallow all similar claims in future. As to the charge on account of the surveyor & chain carriers it seems exorbitant to us, but of that you will be the best Judge. If the charge for taxes (on yorkshire, I presume) was not charged in Ratcliffs last account, it may be correct as far as I know. At all events Mr T & myself are anxious to recieve the account as you have settled or may settle it, to enable us to adjust our accounts before I leave the County.

Mr Ratcliffe has not paid to us the rent of the Wigwam tract for last year, nor will he write to us. We must beg the favor of you to attend to that business, & to collect the rent, &, after retaining your commissions, to remit the residue to Mr Turner for whose use it is intended, as well as the future rents. Ratcliffe is so inattentive that we wish to employ some other person to collect those rents. Will you accept a power of Attorney for that purpose? If you will, we shall revoke his power & forward one to you.

Please let me hear from you as soon as your convenience will permit. I am Dear sir with great esteem very sincerely yrs

Bush. Washington

I purpose leaving this County on the 20th of next month.
