My dear Brother

I wrote you a letter on the 15th this Month, since which I have been more unwell & confined to my room; but now, thank God, I have great reason to flatter myself with a perfect recovery. My indisposition, which has so long worn the appearance of a pulmonary affection in the opinions of all who saw me, has at last been discovered by Docr Rose, after a Strict investigation, to [b]e occasioned entirely by a redundancy of bile remaining too long diffused through the whole System— Altho' the course of physic I have been obliged to undergo to remove the bile has left me exceeding debilitated, yet it has happily removed all those dangerous symptoms which indicated an affection of the lungs. The Docr left me today in high Spirits, and apparently satisfied that little or nothing now was necessary to restore me, but exercise, strengthening medicines— I hope & think he is correct in his judgement. accept my best wishes in which Hannah joins me. I am Yr most Affectionate brother
