From Tobias Lear

Sir,

I take the liberty of enclosing an Account against the Executors of the Will of the late General Washington, for services rendered after the General's death on account of his Estate. I have hitherto forborne exhibiting this account, hoping that the Executors, who knew of my employment, would have spoken to me on the Subject, and that a settlement would have taken place 'ere this.

I pray you will be so good as to let me know, by the return of the bearer, what may be my expectations from this account, as I shall leave this part of the Country in about ten days.

I shall, on Monday, pay the Amount of my bond given to the Executors on acct of the Estate. I am Sir, Your very Hle Servt

Tobias Lear

P.S. I delivered to Mr Forrest the papers relating to the land left to Majr Washington's Children, agreeable to your desire.
