From John Marshall
Richmond Decr 29th [1814]
My dear Sir
As the time for our session approaches I become anxious to know what our situation will be. Can you inform me what provision is made for us? Where and in what kind of a room are we to sit?
We must also rely on you to make enquiries, &, if in your power to make arrangements for our accomodation. If it be practicable to keep us together you know how desirable this will be. If that be impracticable we must be as near each other as possible. Perhaps we may dine together should we even be compelled to lodge in different houses. Do me the favor to give me all the inteligence in your power on this interesting subject.
Are we to have peace; or is the war to be continued till we are dismembered? Your affectionate
J. Marshall
