To Walter Jones
Washington March 5. 1806
Dear Sir
Not having with one a copy of General Washingtons will, I cannot with any degree of precision give the information you request; but as soon as I get home I will send you an extract containing the clause which relates to the National university.
I would with pleasure afford any assistance in my power towards drawing the bill contemplated by the Committee, but I know that the business of two estates under my management, with my own private affairs, will fully employ the short time I shall remain at home, previous to my next Circuit.
I hope to leave this tomorrow, and shall expect the pleasure of seeing you at M.V. before my departure. We will send to Alexa. for you any day you may appoint. I am Dear Sir very sincerely & respectfully yrs
