(Private)
To Samuel L. Southard
March 10th 1827
Dear Sir
As soon as I understood that it was likely Spotswood would soon recieve his orders, I gave directions for the making of his clothes, and they are now in hand.
I have this moment recd your order addressed to him, and the object of this letter is to inquire how long he may remain before his departure for Boston? I presume that his clothes may be got ready in the course of ten or 12 days; but if it is necessary that he should depart at an earlier period he shall do so. I am very respectfully Dear Sir your mo. ob. Servt
Bush. Washington
P.S. Excuse my giving you this trouble, & attribute whatever is improper in it to my ignorance of these matters.
