My beloved Aunt and Uncle

Our Anxiety is in a great measure releived by the receipt of your kind considerate letter my dear Uncle, to Judy; I trust what was so welcome to us, did not cost you too much exertion, or solicitous as we are to hear from you we had rather forego the gratification; than you should incur additional fatigue. My dear Husband and brother are with you ere this, and I hope thro' them we shall soon have the happiness of learning you have recovered, and that the anxiety which I know you have suffered my dearest Aunt, has not injured your health.

We are all well except our dear little Noblet who has been sick for the last week with an affection of the breast, or worms Dr Cramer cannot yet determine— I rather think worms. he is not ill, and I trust, will soon be relieved.

I hope you will not venture to sit in Court until your strength is intirely restored my dear Uncle and the weather is settled. we have had a most uncommon winter, each time John has left home this winter he has charged me should a freeze come to have the Ice house filled so far from this, the children have brought in violets and blue flags from the garden ice will be a rare luxury next summer.

I put up a large package very nice dried cherries to send you my dear Aunt by my Husband, but he declared you would not eat them. if you like dried cherries. they would probably agree very well with you. and I will send some by the first opportunity.

Monday night— the gentlemen have returned and I truly rejoice my dearest Uncle to hear you are so nearly recovered and earnestly hope my dear Aunt may prevail on you not to go out as soon as they say you talk of. indeed it will running too great a risque.

Noblet has very little fever and I hope the Dr will not find it necessary to give him any thing more, than some light med'cine.

My Sisters and children all unite in love & duty. Dear Uncle & Aunt your sincerely affectionate and dutiful niece

Jane C. Washington
