To the Honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court for the district of Columbia and Alexandria
Novr 12th 1826.
The petition of Bushrod Washington & Lawrence Lewis executors of George Washington decd respectfully showeth that there yet remains of the residuary estate of their testator to be sold an undivided third part of Eleven hundred & nineteen acres of land or there abouts in the County of Nansemond belonging to the estate of their testator & the pan or representative of Fielding Lewis & John Walker both decd — one brickhouse in the town of Alexandria conveyed by Archibald McClean & a small tract of land containing about one acres in the County of Fairfax. Being desirous to close their duties as Executors & believing that an early sale of the above property will be beneficial to all the parties concerned, your petitioners pray that a decree may pass for the sale of the above property by a Commissioner to be appointed by this honable Court reserving a right to any of the legatees or executors of the said George Washington decd to bid for the whole or any part of the afsd. property & your petitioners as in duty bound will pray &c.
