Description

George Lee Turberville, anti-federalist politician, was born on 7 September 1760 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Educated in England, he returned to America to serve as a major and aide to General Charles Lee during the Revolutionary War. Turberville then represented Richmond County in the Virginia House of Delegates (178589) and briefly served as Richmond County sheriff.
