Samuel Greenhow (1771–1815)
Samuel Greenhow was Bushrod Washington's agent at the Mutual Assurance Society.
Samuel Greenhow was born on 10 May 1771 in Williamsburg, Virginia. A Richmond merchant, he sat on the city council, served as a private in the Virginia militia during the War of 1812, co-managed (as treasurer) the Virginia Bible Society, and was principal agent of the Mutual Assurance Society fire insurance company. Greenhow married Frances Brown Daniel (1774–1840) circa 1790. He died in Richmond on 13 February 1815.
