Description

Elizabeth Thacker Hooe, daughter of Revolutionary War veteran Captain Bernard Hooe, was born in Prince William County, Virginia. In 1804 she married James Hewitt Hooe (17711825), an Alexandria merchant and councilman. They had five children. Following her husband’s death, she served as executrix of his estate and rented out properties therein. Elizabeth Thacker Hooe died in 1831, remembered by a former tenant as "a good, true, and honorable lady."
