Daniel McCarty Fitzhugh (1733–1786)
Fitzhugh was an acquaintance of Bushrod Washington.
Daniel McCarty Fitzhugh was born in June 1733 in Stafford County, Virginia. A graduate of The College of William and Mary, he worked as a merchant in Fredericksburg. He was also a slaveowner in Westmoreland County. Fitzhugh married three times: to Catherine Hore (died c. 1771), Alice Riden (m. 1771), and Susannah Potter (m. 1772). He had one child with each wife. Fitzhugh died in Westmoreland County on 28 March 1786.
