James Breckinridge (1763–1833)
Breckinridge was a correspondent of Bushrod Washington.
James Breckinridge, brother of senator and U.S. Attorney General John Breckinridge, was born on 7 March 1763 near Fincastle, Botetourt County (then Augusta County), Virginia. After service in the Revolutionary War, he studied law under George Wythe and opened a practice in Fincastle.
